the sallot is steel, formed of a one-piece skull with a long 'tail' over the neck, and a pivoted demi-visor; hammered, shaped, riveted, decorated with incised lines and scalloped edges, height (whole) 23.0cm, maximum width (whole) 21.5cm, maximum depth (whole) 38.5cm, weight 2.575kg, circa 1480-1490. Possibly made in Innsbruck, Germany.
