Dial: white enamel on copper with Turkish numerals, inscribed ‘GEORGE PRIOR / LONDON’, with blued steel ‘Breguet’ type hands. Inner case: gold cut and pierced band with plain back, stamped inside ‘15736’ and maker’s mark ‘I.E.’, stamped with horse’s head. Outer case: gold of four colour types, with foliage patterns and classicising vase with flowers; stamped inside ‘15736’ and maker’s mark ‘I.E’. Fake set of London hallmarks. Protective case: tortoiseshell on gilt-brass, with gilt and enamelled pins. Watch paper: paper printed ‘George Prior / Clock / and Watch maker / IN PRESCOT STREET / Goodmans Fields / London’. Protective case height 7.8cm; outer case height 7.2 m; inner case height 6.8cm, c. 1790. London. Production place: probably Switzerland.
